Set on the Streatham High Road you can find the wonderful SW16 Bar and Kitchen, your new go-to for everything from dining in, to cocktail classes and a whole host of things in between.
SW16 Bar and Kitchen boasts a fresh artisanal deli and takeaway bottle service and also cater for home events; if you want it, SW16 really does have it. The restaurant and bar provides a modern yet warm dining experience that combines Italian home comforts with a splash of metropolitan London, they have really found their niche.
Matilda at SW16 Bar and Kitchen 
We had the joy of dining in with SW16 Bar and Kitchen on a warm Thursday evening. With a slightly reduced bustle to that of the weekend, the atmosphere was relaxed and summery. Doors wide open, enchanted by the sounds of the city and a warm evening breeze, we enjoyed it from the start. We began with some crisp Tommy’s Margaritas accompanied by a fresh burrata, grilled peach, and heirloom tomato salad, served with fresh warm focaccia. It’s no exaggeration to say this was really one of the most sensational starters I have ever had the joy of eating!
Great staff and atmosphere
The delightful staff were eager to help and very attentive. We were recommended their signature seafood Linguini and the Bavette steak, a real treat for meat lovers. SW16 Bar and Kitchen specialise in authentic Italian pastas, inspired by the home cooking of head chef Antonio’s Italian Nonna. Their linguini was without a doubt a simple staple done extremely well. The Bavette, cooked to perfection I must add, and served on a crunchy rocket Panzanella salad was blissfully paired with a light Montepulciano, as recommended by the expert staff.
We also enjoyed some delicious sides including a grilled gem lettuce and pomegranate salad and finished the meal off with a classic tiramisu. From start to finish SW16 Bar and Kitchen was an utter delight. If you love good food, good drinks and a good time, they will have something for you.
With the fully-covered outdoor terrace, the restaurant can seat up to 25 people comfortably outside. Perfect for get-togethers for this summer.
